Terms and Conditions
- Business Talen Rotterdam BV offers private courses starting with a package of at least 15 language lessons of one and a half hours.
- The student will receive a free introductory lesson of one and a half hours so the teacher and student can become acquainted with each other. The teacher will note particular language requirements and assess the knowledge that the pupil may already have of the language to be studied.
- The teacher then writes an evaluation according to the guidelines of Business Talen Rotterdam BV, incorporating the findings as noted during the introductory lesson. The teacher will also advise on the number of lessons to be followed.
- Business Talen Rotterdam BV will forward the report to the student within one week after attending the introductory lesson. If the student has been sent by a company, the report will be sent in duplicate: one copy for the student and one copy for the person within the company, who has authorized the course (for example, HRM or Director).
- Together with the report an estimate will be sent, specifying the number of lessons that the teacher advises, the lesson price per hour, the total price for the lessons, the price of educational materials, any travel expenses (if the lessons are held in-company) and the outstanding fee.
- The course participant or authorizing person within the company shall say, before the start of the course, if he/she agrees to the recommended number of lessons.
- The student or authorizing person within the company may, after agreement has been reached for the start of the course, cancel the contract within 7 days without penalty.
- The student undertakes to pay tuition fees and material costs before the course starts, unless otherwise agreed.
- Hourly rate: please enquire for a free quote.
- Material costs: please enquire for a free quote.
- Educational materials provided by the Institute become the property of the student.
- There is a one-off registration fee of 60.00 Euro.
- There is no further registration fee if the student wishes to have more lessons after completing the course.
- If the student is unable to attend a lesson, he/she must cancel at least 36 hours in advance.
- Lessons not cancelled 36 hours in advance are charged for 100%.
- To get the most out of the course the student is expected to attend for an average of at least one lesson per week.
- If the teacher is unexpectedly unable to attend, the student does not lose the lesson, and another appointment will be made.
- If the student – for whatever reason – wishes, or has to stop the course, neither the course fee nor a portion thereof will be refunded.
- Lessons that the student can not or does not wish to take, remain available for six months and can be taken within that time. Outstanding lessons can also be taken by someone else (a colleague, partner, etc.). A switch to a different language may also be chosen instead.
- After the course, the teacher writes a final report in which the results are described. The report will be sent by the Institute to the student within two weeks. If the student has been sent by a company, a copy of the final report will also be sent to the person authorized in the field of training courses.
- Any questions about the report will be answered by the Institute within a week.
Complaints procedure
If you have a complaint about your course, your teacher, guidance or materials, we would like to hear from you as soon as possible. In this way we can quickly identify the situation and find an appropriate solution. We treat all complaints in the same way:
- Talk to your teacher about your complaint.
- If you and your teacher can not reach a verbal agreement then you can speak to the management of Business Talen Rotterdam BV about it.
The complaint must be clearly formulated with a clear rationale for your position and can not be filed anonymously. - Within one week you will receive a verbal or written response on behalf of the management of the Language Centre.
- If you do not agree with the solution offered, then we will be happy to put your complaint to an independent mediator.
Deadline handling complaints
If, for whatever reason, the handling of the complaint takes longer than the aforementioned period of one week, then Business Talen Rotterdam BV will notify you immediately. An indication of the period within which the Institute believes an appropriate solution can be found will also be given.
Intermediary
If you do not agree with the solution proposed by Business Talen Rotterdam BV, then we are happy to put your complaint to an independent mediator.
The Institute will fully acquiesce with the findings of the intermediary and accept their judgement as binding. Any consequences will be dealt with quickly.
Confidentiality handling complaints
All complaints are always dealt with confidentially. The only persons concerned are: the student, the teacher who teaches the course and the management of the Institute.
Deadline handling complaints
The complaint process must be finished within four weeks following submission of the complaint.
Registration of complaints
A complaint is defined as set out in the complaint form available from the Institute. This form and any correspondence arising from the complaint will be saved for at least one year.
